Hi I'm Gary Payton!

I am a fully qualified Tennis Coach, based in Cumbria and I am passionate about giving my players the best tennis experience possible.

I recently moved back to Cumbria with my family after 5 years down in Devon.

My Work

In Devon I was Head Coach at EF International Academy Boarding School in Torquay and Coaching out of Cary Park Tennis Club, Torquay. Prior to that I was coaching in Cheshire and Cumbria for 32 years following my return from Dubai in the Middle East, where my coaching career began. During my extensive coaching career I have been fortunate enough to work with players of all ages and standards, from Mini Tennis beginners, right through to International Level Juniors and from Adult beginners to National standard players and to hit and practice with some of the worlds top players during my time in the Middle East.

Qualifications

I am an LTA Accredited+ CCA Level 4 Qualified Performance Coach and am fully insured as a full member of the British Tennis Coaches Association (B.T.C.A).

I also have a Diploma in Sports Psychology from Newcastle College and am a Certified Personal Training Practitioner and member of CIMSPA (The nationally recognised regulating body for the fitness industry), gaining distinctions in both the Diploma in Personal Training and the Certificate in Personal Fitness Training.
